It is a wonderful journey and I am glad that I complete all the 23rd lessons!!! I hope I didn't miss any for the instruction is confussing! Well, I enjoy doing it. I suggest that 1 exercise per week will be enough! I try a few new things, uploading pictures and videos. My feeling.... Excited, interesting, enjoyable... Anyway A very good experience for me and helpful since I conduct a lot of computer classes in our library. Do I have fun? YES ... I... DO
I went into Project Gutenburg and found out that there are Chinese EBooks! Although most of them are very classic titles, but very interesting. I can read online or download into my computer through the link from mainsite, mirror site and P2P. However, I do not want to download things to my computer. It is still useful for me to read on line especially those Classic Chinese Books that cannot be bought easily. It is excited. So I put a link here http://www.gutenberg.org
It is very time consuming. Although it is very interesting, I really would like to learn more on creating my own podcast. I tried to go to yahoo and publish a podcast but I cannot get into it. May be try next time. A feed on podcast library book search was put into my bloglines. Very useful if I have time to listen and use it. Anyway, a new adventure for me!!!
Well, I enjoy using those tools. The one I found very useful and I had not use before is " Del.icio.uz" and it is very useful to me. The others like Google Doc is very helpful to me. Also I use a lot Picasa for editing my picture, creating web albums to share with my friends. Google earth and Google map are useful too. Recently I used Flickr to search photos and I found a lot of good photos. I use facebook as a social networking and found a lot of old friends there. Since I am not a music friend so I seldom use those music tools.
I found the article "To a temporary place in time" very interesting! What I agreed most is that the write stated that Libraries are not just collections of documents and books, but are communities. Yes, we are part of the communities. It is exciting to see that the development to Library 4.0 I am still in the situation of library 1.0, learning 2.0, I want to see Library develops to 3.0. In the future, library will be something that people can escape from the environment and fall into a dream of digital knowledge space. Is it good or bad? I cannot comment! But it will be the fact!
I had been using Google Doc for a while. We put our church service power point, programme up to the Online Google and so every member can go on line and have a look. I also use Picsa Web Album to share photos too. It is very exciting. Below I post some photos, a video and a powerpoint presentation that I uploaded to Google Doc. Besides, I also use the Google Apps to build a website for our Church to share all the news! http://www.botanylutheranchurch.org It is so wonderful! If I have time, I may try zoho writer, but not now.... Toooooo buuuusy....
I had been sick for 3 weeks and have no energy to do my blog...now I am better.....
Well, it is excited to visit Auckland City libraries Bebo, it is so lively and it is very attractive to young people. It is a good media to contact the young people and let them see that libraries are changing. I have added myself as a friend.
I have used face book for a while and you can easily find me using company search "Howick Library". It is a way I contact my young friends. I try to look up friends from my high school, unfortunately, I cannot find any! Maybe my age is too old for that. Most my high schoolmates will not do stuff like this. Well what a pity!! I really want to find friends. Maybe I will try to search again. I find a few people working in the libraries in New Zealand and add them as friends. I hope I didn't scare them!!
